Essential Shibari harnesses
The must-know building blocks
Level: Beginner
Class style: Lecture, demo, and hands-on
Tying harnesses is a fundamental rope bondage skill. Chest and hip harnesses are versatile components that could be used in a variety of play styles from simple bedroom bondage, to rough body play, and all the way to rope suspension. They provide sturdy handles by which a person could be held and moved, and an attachment point on a person’s body to tie them to something.
In this class, we will cover the basic techniques required to tie harnesses. After that we move to learning a chest harness and a hip harness.
You will not only learn the steps to tying these harnesses, but you will also understand the reason behind each step and choice that goes into creating them.

Testimonials
Ronnie and Dani are patient, skilled and relaxed instructors. Tying seems simple from the outside, but there are many complexities. They are able to break these down while explaining the “why” in a way that is approachable and gratifying to even an absolute novice. As a student their passion for making rope accessible comes through in this class! It is a pleasure to have instructors who are not only eager to help, but who also engage in a holistic approach to rope. They want everyone to feel welcomed in and it very much shows. Thank you! The only thing I might change is a way to repeat visual example as people tie.
Y’all were patient, clear, helpful, direct, present, and attentive. I have little to say beyond that I could like to attend further classes.
Interesting to learn about all the uses for a half hitch. Instructors were chill.
Encouraged asking questions
Very informative
Light/fun environment while still professional
I liked getting the info/demos for slight variations + benefits to those variations such as a criss cross in the back of hip harness vs straight up + down, etc.
Thank you for taking a daunting skill and making it accessible and easy to understand. This class has opened up new ways for my partner and I to play together and I am very grateful.
